Naming Convention
Here’s the naming convention with each component separated by a dash:
Product identifier – Ad Type – Match Type – Purpose – Source – Additional
Example: HBR - SP - Exact - Ranking KW - STR - 01

Advantages
- As a business grows, and more and more campaigns are launched, following a standardized naming convention, keeps an account organized and makes managing PPC simpler.
- While not directly contributing to profitability, identifiable campaigns help streamline effective navigation, analysis and optimization processes.
- By applying consistent and clear naming conventions, across all campaigns, you are able to sort and filter, on the Amazon interface as well as in reports
- There is no right or wrong way – as long as it is consistent and reflects each element of the campaign
Product Identifier
- This can be an SKU, Product Name, Product Code, or any Unique Identifier
- A unique code for each of your products so that whenever you look at a campaign, you understand this campaign is for that product.
- Examples:
- HBR - Hydrolyte Blue Razz
- HMP - Hydrolyte Mango Pineapple
- HEFP - Hydrolyte Energizer Fruit Punch
Ad Type
- Use the acronyms SP, SB or SD for Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands or Sponsored Display, respectively.
Match Type
- Close Match, Loose Match, Complements, Substitutes, Exact, Broad or Phrase
